Our group is led by Kenneth Davis, Associate Professor in the Department of Meteorology, and a member of the Environment Institute.  We study interactions between the earth's surface, especially terrestrial ecosystems, and the atmospheric boundary layer, and the impacts of these interactions on weather and climate.  Our work is primarily observational.  We specialize in turbulent flux measurements and analysis of lidar data.  A large fraction of our current efforts are aimed at understanding the carbon dioxide budget of the atmosphere.  We are the unofficial headquarters of the Chequamegon Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study, meaning that Ken thinks he is the "big ChEAS!"
